Rep. James Clyburn (D-SC) the House majority whip and a close ally of Joe Biden, appears to be growing frustrated over administration appointments, saying the former vice president is lacking when it comes to naming “Black people” to official cabinet positions.
In an interview with Juan Williams, Clyburn welcomed Biden’s selection of Linda Thomas-Greenfield, a Black veteran of the diplomatic corps, to serve as U.S. ambassador to the United Nations. But he lamented that she is so far alone among Black women tapped for cabinet seats and other top slots, The Hill reported.
“From all I hear, Black people have been given fair consideration,” Clyburn told Williams, a columnist for The Hill. “But there is only one Black woman so far.”
“I want to see where the process leads to, what it produces,” he added. “But so far it’s not good.”
Following Clyburn’s growing frustration over Biden’s administration appointments, Civil Rights attorney Leo Terrell and Democratic Georgia State Representative Vernon Jones reacted, proclaiming that the former vice president is a “racist” and the “DNC is the party of bigotry”.
Leo Terrell responded on Twitter Thursday, writing, “This is so funny. Why are you crying? You supported Sleepy Joe who is a RACIST. Should [have] been smart like me and voted @realDonaldTrump. Do me a favor and RETIRE. You are a dinosaur.” Continued Below
Vernon Jones also weighed in on Twitter Thursday, saying, “I hate saying I was right. But hell, I was right! Black people, did you expect different results after 47 yrs from @JoeBiden? The @DNC is the party of bigotry.”
